David Yates, Managing Director of Octagon’s golf division, brings over 27 years of experience in sales, sales management and business development to the agency.
Yates personally managed the careers of some of professional golf’s top players as Senior Vice-President at Gaylord Sports Management (GSM) for 13 years. Prior to joining GSM, Yates spent 15 years as a Vice President at IMG. Serving on the late Mark McCormack’s executive advisory committee, Yates was the recruiting coordinator for IMG Golf globally and managed the careers of major winners Mark Calcavecchia, Bernhard Langer, Nick Price, Hal Sutton and Ian Baker-Finch, among others.
One of the organizers of the Golf Coaches Association of America, Yates served as the Director of Golf at the United States Military Academy, Stanford University and the University of Oklahoma. Yates was appointed Chairman of the NCAA Golf Committee in 1985.
A First Team Division I Baseball All-American at the University of Delaware, Yates was selected in the 10th round of the MLB draft by the Philadelphia Phillies. He earned a B.S. in Business from Delaware in 1971 and a B.S. and M.S. in Physical Education in 1974. Yates and his wife have been happily married for nearly 40 years and have six children and five grandchildren.
Linda has had almost 30 years experience in the field of Learning and Development (L&D). She started off in the academia (first in Canada, later in Hong Kong) and lectured on Management subjects to both full and part-time undergraduates; solidifying her understanding in the theories and concepts of management.
She then joined the business world and began a long career in L&D in the hospitality industry, computer industry, high-tech industry, pharmaceutical industry, media and finance (investment banking, private banking and insurance). Previous employers include Prudential, HSBC, Honeywell, Digital etc.
In terms of Geography, Asia is her main working ground – from Korea to Singapore, from Vietnam to Japan – but she has also run training in Australia and USA. Audience-wise, participants range from CEOs, MDs to management trainees, from management to sales, operations, functional and administrative staff. Structuring a satisfactory development option per sponsor/client’s requests is Linda’s main interest but she is equally at home on the platform, delivering training. Kevin Livesey joins APG with more than 35 years experience working in tennis and living in South East Asia.
Kevin moved to Hong Kong in 1980 and spent thirteen years with the Hong Kong Sports Institute as Senior Coach and Head Tennis Coach, and also as the acting National Coach of the Hong Kong Tennis Association (HKTA), and from 1982-93 was also the coach and captain of the HKTA Davis Cup and Fed Cup teams.
In 1993 Kevin was responsible for reintroducing WTA Tour tennis tournaments to Hong Kong has since owned and/or operated WTA and ATP World Tour tennis tournaments in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Surabaya and Bali, Indonesia, and acted as consultant to the WTA tournament in Bangalore, India. He was also responsible for initiating the setting up of the WTA International Series tournament in Pattaya, Thailand until he retired in 2011.
From 2006 to 2011, Kevin was also a member of the WTA Board of Directors and a Member of the WTA Tournament Council from 2002 to 2012 representing the Asia Region.
He was inducted into the Hong Kong Tennis Association Hall of Fame in October 2016, and presented with APG’s Lifetime Service to Tennis recognition award in 2018. He currently resides in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the place he has called home for the past 21 years.

Stephen is a professional and dedicated sports management professional with more than 12 years of experience.
His career in the sports industry commenced in 2005 at the ATP, the governing body of men’s professional tennis. During his six and a half years there, he was responsible for overseeing the PR and marketing efforts of the ATP’s International Region working closely with players, tournaments, sponsors and media around the world. He was a key member of the operations and management of the Tennis Masters Cup Shanghai /Barclays ATP World Tour Finals and a member of the ATP Aces for Charity committee.
In 2012, Stephen provided consultancy services to the China Open, Asia’s largest international tennis tournament providing advice across event operations, player services, sponsorship, branding and marketing, before taking up Tournament Director roles with the Tianjin Open (since 2015) and the Taiwan Open (2016-2018). In doing so he became one of the youngest Tournament Directors on either the ATP or WTA tours.
In 2018 Stephen was elected to serve on the WTA Tournament Council.
Stephen was born in Sydney, Australia and holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management through the Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM) in Sydney and Hong Kong.
With a career spanning over 10 years, Grant Carpio has a wide range of skills, from Event Mangement and Marketing to sponsorship activation and player management. His experience has taken him to various cities across Asia, including: Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Taipei, Bangkok, and Seoul (just to name a few). Carpio has a reputable track record working with international entertainment/sports properties such as the WTA, ATP, PGA, European Tour, and Cirque du Soleil.
A native of Hawaii, Carpio received his Bachelors Degree in International Business from Seattle University. While there, he studied a semester of Mandarin which piqued his interest. This led to him studying abroad, where he attained his Masters Degree from Tsinghua University in Beijing. Carpio is fluent in English and conversational Mandarin.
Anastasia is a passionate and driven sports management executive with experience in marketing and event management and a proven record of developing endorsement opportunities. Her 10+ years of experience include providing day-to-day and brand management of Martina Hingis and Daniela Hantuchova, as well as recruiting and managing elite athletes. Tennis has been a part of Anastasia’s life for as long as she can remember, as she played #1 at a Division 1 college. Her current focus is to help top athletes develop strong individual brands and creating new opportunities for their personal and professional growth. She has also been a valuable team member in APG’s tournament operations since 2015, most recently as Director of Operations for the 2019 Toyota Thailand Open.
Prior to starting her professional career on the business side of tennis, Anastasia worked with a start-up company and gained invaluable experience in publicity, marketing and advertising, as well as operations and event planning and management.
Anastasia graduated from the George Washington University with a dual degree in International Business and Marketing. She is fluent in both English and Russian.
